SIMPLESENSOR SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Install Batteries for SimpleSensor

  1. Locate the small slot on the bottom of the sensor
  2. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open your device
  3. Insert 3 AA batteries
  4. Replace the cover and press down firmly until the cover piece clicks into place

Create A SimpleSensor Account

  1. Enter your username, email and password
  2. Agree to the terms and conditions and then press "Register"
  3. Enter the confirmation code that was sent to your email
  4. After entering your confirmation code, press "Confirm Registration"

Configure SimpleSensor with Your SimpleSensor App

  1. Login to the SimpleSensor App
  2. Click the Location (default: Home) where you want to add the SimpleSensor or Create a new Location
  3. Click the "Add Sensor" button
  4. Follow the instructions in the app to configure the SimpleSensor for your Wifi connection
  5. Ensure you have a 2.4GhZ Wifi Network
  6. Ensure you are connected to the Wifi Network that SimpleSensor will be using
  7. Choose the Sensor Type and name the SimpleSensor

Setup Flood (Water) Detection

  1. Install the batteries and follow the configuration instructions as described above
  2. Place the SimpleSensor with the logo facing up in a spot that may detect water or liquid

Setup Temperature and Humidity Monitoring

  1. Install the batteries and follow the configuration instructions as described above
  2. Place the SimpleSensor in a spot with the logo facing up where you want to monitor temperature and/or humidity
  3. Your SimpleSensor will come with adhesive if its needed to stick to a wall or window

Setup Door or Window Monitoring

  1. Install the batteries and follow the configuration instructions as described above
  2. Place the SimpleSensor with the logo facing up on a door, window or cabinet that you want to monitor
  3. Your SimpleSensor will come with adhesive if its needed to stick to a wall, window or door
  4. Position the SimpleSensor magnet opposite and across the window, door or cabinet gap from the SimpleSensor, aligning the logos

Test Alerts and Notifications for SimpleSensor

  1. Quickly press and release the top of the SimpleSensor case between the 2 SimpleSensor logos
  2. SimpleSensor should react by blinking red twice and sending a test notification to any phones that are listening to this SimpleSensor
  3. If there are no blinking lights you may need to replace the AA batteries
  4. Notifications can be configured by using the SimpleSensor app

Configure Alerts and Notifications with the SimpleSensor App

  1. Select the sensor that you would like to configure notifications for
  2. Click the bell icon in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Make your preferred alert selections (e.g., temperature range notification, water detection behavior, etc.)
  4. When you are finished, click the "Save Sensor Alerts" button at the bottom of the screen

Change the Name or Type of Sensor with the SimpleSensor App

  1. Select the sensor you would like to change the name or type of
  2. Click the settings button (cog wheel) in the upper top right corner
  3. Change the sensor type by making a selection from the drop down menu
  4. To change the sensor name, type in new name
  5. Save your changes by pressing "Save Sensor"

View SimpleSensor Details with the SimpleSensor App

  1. Select the location of the sensor that you would like to view details for
  2. Click on the sensor you would like to show details for
  3. Make sure the details tab is selected at the bottom of the screen

Share Your SimpleSensor With Others

  1. Select the location that you would like to share
  2. Select the settings icon in the top right corner and scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Enter the email address of the person you would like to share it with and click the "Share Location" button
